Outline Job Description: Term-Time Montessori Children’s House Guide

Cobham Montessori School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This appointment will be subject to receiving an Enhanced Disclosure and Barred List check from the Disclosure and Barring Service, which we consider to be acceptable, as well as appropriate references. A Prohibited List check may also be undertaken in relation to this appointment.

Cobham Montessori School is located in a vibrant village in Surrey within commuting distance of London. We offer Montessori education to children from age 2 to 11.

We operate from two large, bright halls close to Cobham town centre, with a current maximum of 35 children comprising:

• A small Infant Community for our youngest children

• A Children’s House

• An Elementary class

Cobham Montessori School requires a qualified and motivated Montessori Directress/Guide to join our Children’s House team. We are looking for someone who has experience in an authentic Montessori environment and who is dedicated to implementing high-quality Montessori practice.

The role will require excellent communication skills and fluent English, both written and spoken. The detailed requirements for this role may be adapted to reflect a suitable applicant’s specific skills and circumstances, as we are seeking to grow our team and a number of positions may be available.

Working Hours

• Operating hours: 8.00am – 4.00pm, Monday to Friday

• School open to children: 9.00am – 3.15pm

• Three school terms per year spanning approximately 38 weeks (including inset/training days)

• Occasional additional days required for parent conferences or open days
